What We Believe

Core Beliefs

The First Baptist Church of Mannington holds to historically orthodox Christian, Protestant, and Baptist beliefs. We believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, that he is God incarnate, fully human and fully God with no division between the two. We believe that He suffered and died on the cross, and raised from the grave three days later. We believe he is returning for His Church. We believe in the Trinity, that God exists in three persons (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) who each posses the full, undivided divinity of God. We believe in Baptism by immersion for New Believers, and we practice the Lord’s Supper as a remembrance of Christ’s saving work. We believe in the Holy Scriptures as the authoritative Word of God.

FBC Mannington is associated with the American Baptist Churches through the West Virginia Baptist Convention and is, locally, a member of the Fairmont Association.
